'It's Never OK to be Overweight,' Exclaims Motivation and Fitness Expert Paul Chek, P
World famous holistic health practitioner Paul Chek releases his comments about the Centers for Disease Control's recently restated obesity and mortality numbers…
Vista, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2007 -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently revealed that their weight and mortality estimates were overstated.
Their new analysis adjusts the number of deaths each year due to obesity and being overweight in the United States to around 112,000 -- 75 percent fewer than their previous estimate of more than 400,000.
The report states that while obesity still remains a major health concern, mildly overweight people are not nearly as much in the high risk group as they previously thought.
"These new figures have resulted in a mass sigh of relief among the people who are overweight and lead sedentary lifestyles," Chek said, "and they've been lulled into a false sense of security."
Chek, who has just released The Last 4 Doctors You'll Ever Need -- How to Get Healthy Now!, an ebook that exposes the truth about the state of fitness and healthy lifestyles in the United States, is warning of the dangers of listening to such an "all clear" report. He stresses that there are other crucial factors to consider when determining mortality and life span besides being overweight.
"The fact that the CDC overstated the numbers does not, cannot, give people a reason to continue being even mildly overweight," he emphasized. "Their statement is a red herring, because it distracts people from the fundamental truth that they need to be responsible about leading an active lifestyle, eating the right foods and having the right mental outlook, if they are going to have the best shot at living a longer, healthier and happier life."
In his new ebook, Chek reveals strategies that were first popularized by Hippocrates over 2,000 years ago. As recently as the 1940's many cultures still practiced these principles, a great deal of whom didn't even have a word for cancer in their native language.
